We are a Gold Coast & Ballina building design & drafting company specialising in design & documentation across a varying range of disciplines. After working together for a number of years Michael Tomlinson & Stephen Lloyd created MS Design. In mid 2008 they signed a lease & began operating from a small office at 47 Ashmore Road, Bundall. They soon outgrew their premises & moved to their present location in the same building. Client satisfaction coupled with the desire to produce the best job possible has seen the business prosper through some tough times in the industry.
Michael entered the industry in 1997 & over the years has designed & documented residential projects from basic through to highly complex designs. Throughout his career, he has achieved numerous industry awards & enjoys all aspects of the design industry. Michael’s expertise is not limited to domestic residential projects. His extensive portfolio of projects includes the design & development of numerous child care centres, a boutique resort & a medical centre. Michael is also President of the Gold Coast branch of the “Building Designers Association of Queensland” (BDAQ). Michael is also registered as a building practitioner in Victoria.

Steve spreads his time between his Ballina Base & the Gold Coast Office. He holds a medium rise QBCC Building Design Licence & a Diploma of Architectural Technology. Prior to the formation of MS Design, Steve’s career included employment with two Brisbane-based architects. Both companies specialised in the design & documentation of large-scale commercial projects. Steve also spent a number of years with a Gold Coast building design company documenting high-end prestige luxury homes & multi–unit developments. Steve is a competent Revit user producing quality documentation throughout a range of projects. He has attended numerous Revit technology conferences, keeping abreast of the latest software advances.

Dylan joined MS Design in 2015 and has enabled the practice to expand and take on more dynamic projects. Dylan has been a welcomed addition to the team. Prior to joining MS Design, Dylan completed his Certificate III Carpentry apprenticeship under the guidance of Laing O’Rourke. He then went on to complete his Diploma of Building Design in 2015. Dylan’s onsite experience in a wide variety of projects has given him the foundations to incorporate practical solutions into a range of complex projects.
